A downloadable game for Windows

Note: Information required for submission is in the info.txt file in the download.

Game Description: Have you ever been hurling through space with no understanding of your direction, speed, or location? Me neither, but if you play this game you may get the sense of what that feels like. This game is directionally challenging, with the only indicators of whats around you is a UI that states your relative direction to a target (turn left, right, etc.) and a beeping sound. Using this, you are to navigate away from asteroid fields that are hurling towards you at high speeds. Failing to do so will bring undesired results. Do you have what it takes to pull through this void?

How the game ties into the theme: In Space, above as is below (or as above, so below), what is above could very well be below. I purposefully made the game directionally disorienting to support this claim. With 6 DOF movement, and no deceleration, this game is a challenge to navigate.

Game Content:

Controls:

Movement: W: Thrust Forward, A: Thrust Left, S: Thrust Backward, D: Thrust Right, Q: Roll Left, E: Roll Right, Mouse-Y: Pitch, Mouse-X: Yaw,

Scanner: F to Use. Highlights the asteroids, ammo boxes (in survivor gamemode), and the ship (in the escape category). Relative Direction User Interface (RDUI) will not be able to track without targets scanned.

Gun: LMB to shoot, RMB to aim. Available in all Destroy categories and in the Destructive gamemode in the escape category. Use this to blast away asteroids.

2 Categories, 3 Gamemodes each. All of which get harder each round.

Category 1: Escape, Each time you escape is a round. Reach the Ship.

Background: This is why we dont repair the ship alone. While outside, doing repairs, your crew spots Outer Space Defense (OSD) agents coming your way. They choose to fly out of sight, hoping you'll hold on. You don't.

Passive: There is a ship placed a fixed distance away, all you have to do is make it there while avoiding asteroid fields.

Aggressive: Your on the clock, the ship is placed a certain distance away based on how much time you have and what it expects your speed to be (increases each round).

Destructive: Your on the clock, and got your hands on a Glock (not really a Glock but you have a gun), the ship is again placed away based on time and speed, but this time you can blast asteroids out of your way.

Category 2: Destroy, each wave is a round. Destroy asteroids and Survive.

Background: Your crew knows your the one who ratted them out. You get ditched in the middle of space. Only your gun there to console you to your eventual demise.

Destroyer: You have a gun, you should use it. Waves of asteroids will try to kill you so watch out. Survive as long as possible.

Bloodlust: You have a gun, and you have to use it. If the timer reaches 0, you die, time increases when you kill asteroids, decreases when your hit, and speeds up over time. Survive as long as possible.

Survivor: You have a gun, and you should be careful about how you use it. Ammo is scarce, but can be dropped by asteroids or be found floating around. Survive as long as possible.
